That is why Tualatin Valley Dental partners with Cherry, a patient financing platform that splits treatment costs into predictable monthly payments instead of one large payment at checkout. Applying takes about a minute and uses a soft credit check, so reviewing your options does not affect your credit score. Once you are approved, you choose the plan length that fits your budget, with 0% APR available for qualifying patients.
How Cherry Works:
1. Apply online. Use our practice application link and complete the short form from your phone or computer. A soft credit check means no impact to your credit score.
2. See your options. If you are approved, you will see your available amount and the plan lengths you qualify for before committing to anything.
3. Pay over time. Our team applies your approved Cherry funds toward treatment, and you make simple monthly payments from there.
Cherry is a financial technology provider and platform, not a bank or a lender. All loans through Cherry are made by Lead Bank, Member FDIC. Financing options through Cherry have an annual percentage rate (APR) of 0% to 35.99%, terms between 1 and 60 months, and an amount of $35 to $65,000. For example, a $1,500 purchase may cost $60 per month over 24 months at 0% APR, with $60 due at the time of purchase. Eligibility for financing depends on a number of factors, including but not limited to your financial history, credit score, monthly income, and monthly expenses. Does applying for Cherry affect my credit score?
No. Cherry uses a soft credit check to determine your approval, which does not impact your credit score. Once a payment plan is active, Cherry typically begins reporting payment activity to the credit bureaus after about 30 days.
What do I need in order to apply?
You must be 18 or older, reside in the United States, have a mobile phone, and have a bank-issued debit or credit card. Prepaid cards are not accepted. Most patients finish the application in about a minute.
Can I use Cherry along with my dental insurance?
Yes. Insurance benefits are applied first, and Cherry can cover the remaining out-of-pocket balance. Our team can estimate that balance before treatment begins, so there are no surprises at checkout.
What treatments can Cherry be used for?
Cherry can be applied to most out-of-pocket treatment costs, including crowns, restorative work, cosmetic care, sedation, and emergency treatment. If you are unsure whether a specific service qualifies, call the office and our team will confirm.
Is Cherry the same thing as your membership plan?
No, they solve different problems. Our membership plan is a yearly alternative to dental insurance that includes preventive care and a 15% treatment discount, while Cherry is a payment plan that spreads the cost of treatment over time. Many patients use both together.
